The MyFord Touch system offers convenience that Ford drivers in the greater Fort Lauderdale area love. A recent survey reported that 91 percent of MyFord Touch users with 2011 or 2012 model year vehicles use hands-free calling at least once a month, while 62 percent use it daily. In an effort to keep those drivers satisfied, Ford has released a MyFord Touch upgrade, with a cleaner more user-friendly look.
Those who own a Ford Taurus or Flex have either already received the MyFord Touch software update, or will in the near future. The new upgrades come in the form of a USB drive and SD card, which allows you to upload the latest MyFord Touch from your driveway or garage. Among the updates included in the USB and SD drives are new mapping data, additional phone support, improved graphics and touchscreen navigation, audiobook integration, and refined voice recognition software. Utilizing the SYNC platform, MyFord Touch will also have the ability to link up with various tablet devices, as well.
The various updates to MyFord Touch are based on what drivers wanted to gain from the new software, and what they wanted to see improved. The upgrades are a reflection of Ford adhering to customer demand and creating a better product that will eventually be found in all new Ford models.
Total installation time for the MyFord Touch update is estimated to be about an hour.
