2020 Ford Escape Announced Fort Lauderdale FL

Ford is entering the 2020 market this coming Fall season with an all new and redesigned Escape. This vehicle has been a staple small-sized SUV crossover on the market that has been praised for its powertrain selection, technology integration within its features and intuitive cargo storage maintaining a comfortable ride with friends and family in the backseat. With the upcoming 2020 model, Ford has updated the interior and exterior design, brought in a competitive hybrid option, and completed with new features and technology new to the 2020 generation. What technology is being brought into the new Escape?

Looking at the new 2020 Escape, we see a lot of the great technology that was integrated in previous generations as well as a selection of new features. Ford is bringing back the staple keyless entry and ignition with remote ignition also, allowing you to start your vehicle from the comfort of your home. Within this new vehicle, you will find the new Alexa based integration; Ford’s Sync 3 AppLink system while connected to Amazon’s cloud-based voice service gives hands-free access to a slew of new features, including voice activated navigation system, live-updated traffic information, Amazon Prime shopping, and activation of supported Smart Home devices. The Sync 3 system comes in conjunction with smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a full fledged 10-speaker B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen. The 2020 Escape will also bring in a hands-free automatic liftgate, and sliding second-row seats to achieve a best-in-class maximum second-row legroom and effectively versatile storage capacity.

 

How will the new Escape perform on the road?

Ford is bringing in 4 new powertrains and new transmission systems with the 2020 Escape in order to boost efficiency and power while on the drive. The brand new 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine will come standard on S, SE and SEL trims that produces 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. With this engine and an optimized drive train that Ford offers you will be able to utilize a tow-capacity of up to 2,000 pounds. Ford also brings in cutting edge technology, establishing the 2020 Escape as a fuel-efficient engine utilizing real-time cylinder deactivation. This system shuts off a cylinder when it senses the extra power is not needed activating in under 15 milliseconds producing a smooth ride. The second powertrain offered with the 2020 Escape will be the new 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that is available on the Titanium trim producing 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. This engine clocks its acceleration up to 10 percent faster compared to the powertrain it replaces from previous generations and boasts a towing capacity up to 3,500 pounds.

 

If you are looking to save on fuel economy, Ford is looking to offer their hybrid format of the 2020 Escape. The first of these electronically enhanced options is the all-new 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle hybrid engine that will be paired with an electronic continuously variable transmission. This front-wheel drive hybrid will produce about 198 horsepower while being capable of pushing 85 mph top speed while running in the electric-only mode of the engine. Ford also is bringing in a plug-in hybrid variant allowing you to charge up at home with either a 110-volt Level 1 charge or 240-volt Level 2 charge configuration. This hybrid model will come with four different EV modes that decide how the electronic portion of your engine is configured.

 

With the next generation of vehicles coming out, it is exciting to see what Ford brings to the table.
