1. La Bamba Mexican and Spanish Restaurant Plantation

This is a great place for tasty cuisine made from fresh ingredients. We suggest starting with the housemade guacamole or the cheese dip. Or maybe both! We also like the crab nachos and the delicious soups and salads to begin your meal. For the main course, have a steak fajita, a veggie fajita, a pulled chicken chimichanga, a grilled chicken quesadilla, the flautas rancheros, or the Mexican pizza. La Bamba is located at 10169 W. Sunrise Blvd. You can visit them Sunday through Thursday between 11:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

2. Ole’ Ole’ Mexican Grill & Cantina

For more than 35 years, this restaurant has served fresh food to the community. We like to start with the chicken nachos or the crab quesadilla. If you have several people in your group, you can order an appetizer platter for the table. For your meal, try the Mahi filet, the chile relleno, the fish tacos, or one of the Mexican combination dinners.

Vegetarians will enjoy the veggie fajitas, the cheese enchilada, or the bean tacos. If you have kids with you, there is a wide selection for them. Visit this venue at 8100 W. Broward Blvd. any day of the week.

3. Zona Fresca

Zona Fresca is the perfect place to get a delicious and authentic dish. We love their salsa bar, where you can choose from mild to spicy salsas to compliment your meal. Add these salsas to your bean and cheese burrito, roasted pork burrito, chicken breast taco, Baja fish taco, or gringo-style taco. There are also many options for children, which include a chicken and cheese taco, a bean and cheese burrito, and a mini cheese quesadilla.

Don’t forget to add a dessert to finish off your meal. We recommend the Mexican wedding cookies or the flan. Find Zona Fresca at 1095 S. University Dr. #3364. They have served the community since 1996 and remain a locals’ favorite, and they are open seven days a week.
